PANJAB UNIVERSITY(P.U)
It was located at Lahore in 1882 It was the 4th University in Asia under the British goverment. After the Partition in Indo-Pak ,Panjab university bacame in lahore and But In indian constitution be made without any univeristy upto decade.Afterwards administrative office as go through in solan & various other deptt in Punjab regions as like Hoshiarpur,jalandhar,ludhiana etc. and the teaching departments functioned properly. Panjab university was restructured in 1956,sector 14 Chandigarh and Still this university feel proudy in whole indian universities.
P.U is a famous university in india. It is situated in sect 14 chandigarh and It can covered a 550 acres area in sectors 14 and 25 of the city. In thsi university has 46 deptts as under various research and studies and 10 centers for teaching and research .P.U has maximum 72 colleges all over the Punjab state as such like other states Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh, Punjab university carious other Regional centers at Muktsar, Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur and Swami Sarvanand Giri Regional Centre Hoshiarpur
